The Backpack Joke

For the past few years the big joke between the older boys (Shay, Andrew and Alexander) has been to slip a doll into one of the other's backpacks, so that when they open it up at School they are embarassed to death. This year's joke recipient was Alexander who opened up his backpack at school this morning to find a Raggedy Ann tucked in between his books!

At Least this year it was a smaller doll...........Andrew opened his backpack last year to find one of Abby's lifesized baby dolls.

Beat the Heat..... AGAIN

We spent all evening in the pool again. They've been trying to cram in every second that they can as school starts NEXT WEEK!

Beat the Heat!

With 100+ temps there is only one way to beat the heat......the pool. Andrew spends most of the day in there. Abby comes to dinner in her bathing suit, just so that daddy can be reminded of his promise to take Abby swimming after dinner.

FIGS

Homemade Fig Butter...YUM! I spiced it like you would apple butter and except for the small fig seeds you could not tell the difference!~

These figs weren't as big as they usually are. These are actually a second crop, a late frost took the first crop.

Shay climbed up in the tree to get the ripened figs.

No wonder Adam and Eve covered themselves with fig leaves they are huge and actually have a very soft fuzz on them!
