Vincent Francis Culotta Sr.
He was born May 1, 1938, at Baltimore, a son of the late Salvatore S. and Margaret K. Culotta. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He was Catholic by faith.
Vince was a loving and caring dad and “Pop” and was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He enjoyed working crossword puzzles, shooting pool, and watching all sports, especially watching his grandson play football. He was a life long Baltimore Orioles Fan and a proud veteran. Mr. Culotta is survived by an extensive family, three sons and a daughter, Vincent F. Culotta Jr. and wife Angel, Joshua William Culotta, Theresa “Teri” Ann Culotta-Hayes and husband David, all of Mannington, and Salvatore Samuel Culotta II and wife Lorie of Lawton, Oklahoma ; 11 grandchildren, Timothy W. “Timmy” Coberly Jr., Kristofer Joseph Hayes, Brandi Sierra, Victoria Rose “Vicki” Culotta, all of Mannington, Kayla Faith Culotta-Gibert, and her husband Albert of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Samuel Shay, Andrew Clay, Alexander Cordell, Melissa Beth, Abigail Bridget, and Jacob Stewart Culotta, all of Lawton, Oklahoma; his former wife of 20 years and mother of his children, Shirley Culotta Johnston; his brother by choice, Emory R. Johnston Jr., Seven Pines; and a niece, Diane “Di” Paugh, Maryland. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Lena Rose Culotta; and a brother, Joseph Salvatore Culotta. The family would like to extend a sincere and special thanks to the nurses and staff on the 200 Hallway at Wishing Well Health Center. Friends may call at the Hutson Funeral Home, 500 E. Main St. Mannington, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday with Elder Bill Foley officiating. Interment will be in the West Virginia National Cemetery at Pruntytown with full military graveside honors. Online condolences can be sent to Hutsonfunerals @aol.com.
